Robert Camuto is a wickedly charming citizen of New YorkandFrance, but for his latest venture into the wilds of oephilia, Camuto introduces us to the vinyards of Sicily. It's a detailed tour of the wine culture of the region, as well as the best vintages. To accompany the discussion we will, naturally, be hosting a tasting of Sicilian wines provided by the excellent Chamber Street Wines. This is a rare free guided wine tasting by an expert on the region.

By Jonathan Lethem (Doubleday, $27.00)
It's difficult, sometimes, to read later work by an author who's written some of my favorite novels. Difficult, it seems, unless that author is Jonathan Lethem. Lethem writes Manhattan here, specifically the Upper East Side, and it's a goddamned triumph of a book. His island is full of secrets, spectacle, revelation and the brilliantly obtuse, all blended together into a strange claustrophobia; his greasy, smoky, sexy island, even more than our own, is to be laughed at and feared. One hint: all his time spent anthologizing Philip K. Dick was not in vain.
