Yván Yauri was born in 1963 in the small city of Quillabamba ("Plain of the Moon" in Quechua) in the Cusco region of Peru. In 1984 he moved to Europe, residing mainly in Spain where he worked as a street vendor until 1997. Back in Peru, he participated actively in the popular movement that brought about the end of the Fujimori regime (2000). Since then he has directed several magazine and radio programs, events, and cultural groups in the cities of Cusco and Lima, and has participated as a founding member in the Writer’s Guild of Peru. His books are: Rastro (1998), Viento de fuego (2007), Reapertura del sumario (2007), and Saga errante (2009). His poetry pays tribute to the Latin American avant-garde of the last century, César Vallejo being the decisive influence. He currently lives in the Wanchaq district in the city of Cusco.
Mariela Dreyfus is a Peruvian poet, essayist and translator. She holds a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from Columbia University. As a poet she has published Memorias de Electra (1984), Placer fantasma (1993), Ónix (2001), and Pez (2005). Placer fantasma was awarded the National Poetry Award Asociación Peruano-Japonesa in 1992. Dreyfus's poetry is included in several anthologies of Peruvian and Latin American poetry. She has co-edited the critical volume Nadie sabe mis cosas. Reflexiones en torno a la poesía de Blanca Varela (2007), and published the book-length essay, Soberanía y transgresión: César Moro (2008). She has translated several American poets, among them Allen Ginsberg, and her translations of Edward Dorn, Sylvia Plath, Diane Wakoski and AI, are included in the anthology Muestra de poesía norteamericana contemporánea (1987). She has also translated the volume Goddess of the Americas. Writings on the Virgin of Guadalupe (2000) collected by Ana Castillo.
Roger Santiváñez nació en Piura, costa norte del Perú. Obtuvo un Ph. D. en Literatura Latinoamericana por Temple University. Ha publicado 'Eucaristía' (Tse-tse, Buenos Aires, 2004) que fue galardonado con el Premio de Poesía José María Eguren de New York (2005). En 2006 publicó su recopilación 'Dolores Morales de Santiváñez. Selección de Poesía (1975-2005). Su libro 'Labranda' salió en Lima en dos ediciones sucesivas en 2008 y 2009. 'Amaranth precedido de Amastris' fue publicado por Ediciones Amargord de Madrid en 2010. Como editor invitado de la Revista Hostosiana preparó el dossier 'Destellos digitales.70 escritores peruanos en Estados Unidos' (2005). Poemas suyos aparecen en la muestra 'Pulir Huesos. 23 poetas latinoamericanos (1950-1965)' que Eduardo Milan preparo para Galaxia Gutemberg (Barcelona, 2007). Co-fundador del estado de revuelta poética denominado Movimiento Kloaka (1982-1984) y del suplemento cultural 'Asalto al Cielo' y sello editorial del mismo nombre. Periodista cultural y ensayista, fue promotor de rock subterráneo en el Perú y activista del 'Comite Killka'. Actualmente es Profesor de Lecturas Hispánicas en Temple University, Filadelfia.
